Detailed update of World of Goo Visual, goes online within the next week

Designers Kyle Gabler collapses some of the big changes with the update.

2D boys welt of GOO will be from morning the next free game in the Epic Games Store. However, this is not a simple giveaway - there will also be a free update to redesign the graphics. The designer / artist / composer Kyle Gabler has recently broken down these changes in a post office.

To be very clear, there are no new levels, no new characters, no new Battle Royale Deathmatch mode. This is just a gentle remastering that we have made for fun, said Gabler. However, the entire framework for the game has been replaced so that various PC versions should now work without problems again. Together with a double resolution (the original ran at 800 × 600), Welt of GOO runs in aspect ratio 16: 9.

Not only was a high scaling done, but the team has optimized every image by hand to make sure it fits. Of course, fans can still easily use the original pictures. Further improvements to the graphics and the user interface have also been made. Another nice change is that assets and stored files are no longer encrypted. We hope that the game will be more open and friendly for modifications, said Gabler.
