The Witcher 3 Follow The Thread is an unforgettable, though long mission, which offers everything: old friends, big monsters and tricky decisions. You must find another witcher and merge with it, measure yourself with an Ekimmara and get off with enough limbs to collect your salary check.
Since it is one of the longer and more extensive missions in The Witcher 3, a guide will probably help you without end. So if you want to start The Witcher 3, read on and find out what exactly is going on.

How do I start to follow the thread?
After completing the introductory part of the game, also known as Meeting with Yennefer in Nilfgard, they are asked to look at three different places where Ciri was discovered. Kaiser Emhyr wants them to be brought to him, and asked them and Yennefer to look for her. These three different places are Velen, Novigrad or Skellige, but for the beginning of this quest go over to Novigrad and go to the contract board on the hierarch Square.
Once there, a message window with the name Monster is displayed in the bits. If you accept the contract, you will be communicated to you the location of the supervisor. The security guard informs you about the victims of monster hunting at night and instructs you to examine the scene.
Before you go, the guard will mention that someone else has taken the contract. So be fast!
Examine the crime and feel the monster
Go to the place where you were referred to search and discover a bloody mess at a crime scene. Use your witchers and interact with everything that is there, including the footsteps of the monster that leads out of the shed.
As soon as you are outside, follow the tracks with your senses. These eventually lead to a small bridge where the tracks suddenly end. Now it's time to swim on the other side where you can see a building on the other side. When you have arrived there, use your senses again and you will recall the traces. They lead inside where they can hear fights.
Walk up the stairs and discover your weapon brother, Lambert fighting against an Ekimmara, a smaller, animal species of vampire.
Defeat the Ekimmara with Lambert
The Ekimmara can be a slippery opponent, especially since it is invisible, but luckily Lambert can be a pleasant distraction for the beast. The best advice we can give is to stay at the toes, constantly dodging and lagging through the Ekimmara, if possible. We also recommend using the Igni character, as this often helps to end the Ekimmara due to fire damage over time.
As soon as they managed to defeat the Ekimmara, Lambert will agree to share profits with them, and will return to talk to the supervisor. You can either go with him immediately or meet later.
Problems arise
Although they might think that the quest is officially completed at this time, they have proven to be wrong than Lambert began to ask the supervisor where a gentleman named "Jad Karadin" is located. As a result, the supervisor calls the guards and runs away, Lambert is on his heels. Of course they have to whisk the guards.
If this is done, you will find that the supervisor does not know where Jad is Karadin, but indicates the Seven Cats Inn in Novigrad, where someone named Vienne has more information.
If you meet Lambert there, he will explain that his friend was murdered because of a gang of attenses that Jad Karadin responded. Since then, he is looking for Karadin and his members to achieve a repayment they will not forget so quickly.
- Welchen dialog you choose and interact with Lambert has no real impact. So be a smart ass before talking to Vienne.
Unfortunately, Vienne does not have a lot of information about Karadin's residence, but knows where you can find Hammond and SELYSE, other members of the gang.
- ES is where you can kill Lambert Vienne, but if you do this, three other elves will appear to stop it .
Then Lambert proposes to separate, and leaves them to drive to skiing to detect Hammond.
Hammond find
Hammond will be located in Trottheim, a small village on the island of Faroe Islands. To get there, we recommend that you drive quickly to the Harviken control point to grab Roach and drive to the village.
As soon as you arrive, an intermediate sequence appears and you will be asked by the villagers (in less friendly words) what they do in the village. After most dialogues are exhausted over the whereabouts of Hammond, the villagers decide that it is a good idea to stab themselves to cut them. There is not too many of them, but they can surround you quickly, so be sure you're moving.
As soon as it is done, go to Hammond, who prays at the shrine. Like the villagers he will not be pleased to see you and will try to kill you. If you like the favor, you will find hints on his body suggesting that Karadin is located in Gildorf in Novigrad.
Meet Lambert in the Nowhere Inn
Take Novigrad and use the Checkpoint Oxenfurt Gate to get to the Nowhere Inn. Once there, Lambert gives them an overview of what happened to Selisse, and provides you with more information about Karadin's twilight shops - especially in terms of work with slaves.
Once your discussion is over, you can both go to Karadin's estates.
Take care of karadin
When you arrive at Karadin, both Lambert and Geralty will be invited before a plan for the burglary falls into the property. It seems as if Karadin had expected her visit and strangely not thought of bringing his wife and children to a much safer place. Regardless, they will lead most of the entertainment in this part of the search as Lambert has no particularly talkative atmosphere.
You will find that Karadin seemingly modified from his former life and instead settled with his family as a dealer. Even contradictory, Karadin's version of events that led to Aidid's death.
- _ In the last time, it is up to you if you spare Karadin or help Lambert to kill him. There are no real consequences for the search because Lambert is still looking at her as a friend, regardless of the election ._
