Riot Games has been a dominant force in the games industries, electronic sports and music over the last decade thanks to the lasting power of League of Legends IP. With arcane, Riot is looking to take that domain one step further and is now trying to join the television space and cinema through his characters from League of Legends. Although it remains to be seen how expansive ends up becoming Riot in this market, arcane seems a good first way out for the company at this time.
To coincide with the conclusion of 2021 Lisa of Legends Electronic Sports Season today, the first three episodes of arcane have finally launched in Netflix. The series is ready to last nine episodes in total, with the launch of Riot. Arcane In three different acts, each of which will contain three episodes. At the time of writing these lines, I have seen the first four episodes of arcane, and I have remained quite surprised at how much I am enjoying it.
For those who are not familiar with arcane in a general sense, the show focuses on a handful of characters of Lisa of legends and further develops their background stories within the extensive world of ruination. Champions like Jinx, VI, Jayce, Caitlyn, Echo, Viktor and Harbinger are present in arcane. The show is also carried out for several years in the cities of Plover and Faun during the time the Hex tech technology was created for the first time. Basically, if you are someone who has played Lisa of legends for quite some time, much of what is focusing on arcane should be something recognizable, which makes it even more great to see life in this way.
Perhaps the unique part of arcane comes with the visual style in which Riot has landed and the Article Production animation company. Riot and Article have collaborated in the past, mainly in some music videos associated with legends. As such, the artistic style should be a little recognizable. Even so, it was not until I saw this style of animation in long format content as arcane, I really started to appreciate it. The images look almost with an airbrush that makes them more different from many other forms of animation I have seen.
Music is still a great element of arcane, as well as. The soundtrack of the program is in front and the center in a prominent way at least once per episode and presents artists such as BEA Miller, Denzel Curry, Imagine Dragons and many others. Although obviously I have not heard all the songs included in the series still, there are some verifiable successes that really help improve a series of emotional moments in arcane.
What has surprised me more than arcane based on what I have seen so far, many of the new characters that were created for this series are quite memorable and interesting as a way? While the fans of legends will surely enter arcane simply to see many of the champions mentioned getting their own time at the center of attention, they are the secondary characters that have been attached to me. Arcane The co-creators Alex Yes and Christian Like told me in an interview before the launch of the series that was very important that the new characters in this world will develop in their own way. Otherwise, if arcane only centered on champions of Lisa of legends, I would make this world feel much smaller. Up to this moment, I think they have achieved that goal substantially.
It remains to be seen how arcane, progress in the remaining five episodes that I have to see, but if you consider yourself a legend fan, I think there are many things that I like here. Even out of seeing a series of interesting references and callbacks to Lisa tradition within arcane, what really impresses me is the work of the characters and the narrative that has been shown so far. Like your praise in other avenues, arcane, it seems that it will be another achievement for Riot Games and shows that the study is very capable of continuing to expand in the field of television and animation, assuming it decides to do so.
