Many SC fans spent Thursday to look at their cell phones every few minutes or check their mail account on the computer. The association had announced that it would notify all season ticket holders and members who had registered for the approximately 26,000 tickets for the DFB Cup final. They had to be patient until late at noon, then it was clear who could buy the coveted cards and who went out empty.
At the sports club, training was trained in the meantime, after all, there are three important Bundesliga games on the program before the final against Leipzig, all against direct competitors for international places: After the game against Hoffenheim, Union Berlin comes to Freiburg, and at the end of the sports Club to Leverkusen. However, the training is dosed in the final phase. "Relaxation and calm to rest is more pronounced than at the beginning of the season," explained coach Christian Streich, so this Thursday was more "little done".
This had the positive side effect that Nils Petersen also "participated" after his illness, as the SC coach said. Nevertheless, he left open whether the SC record gate hunter will be there in the top game on Saturday evening. "We still don't know if it makes sense." This also applies to defense lawyer Manuel Gulde, who was also sick and has only entered training again this week. In addition, according to Streich, there were "two to three strikes". However, he did not want to name them, probably also because it could influence the tactic for the game at the TSG, whether they are there or not.
light all -clear at Weißhaupt
With two other personal details, on the other hand, the SC coach gave an insight, one of them is unpleasant for him: Kevin Schade may have to be operated on. The 20-year-old offensive player has been missing since the beginning of March due to an abdominal muscle fiber tear. On the other hand, a slight all -clear strike in relation to Noah Weißhaupt, who had to be replaced after his substitution against Mönchengladbach because of a serious shoulder injury: "It may be around an operation, and will not be missing as long."
In the last three league games and in the cup final, the two youngsters will not be able to get involved. Streich finds "extremely gratifying, but the games are also associated with tension" that the Freiburgers can still achieve a lot in these games. This now applies to the Baden derby, which has already existed twice this season. In the league, the Freiburgers lost the home game through a goal in added time with 1: 2, in the cup round of ultimate they returned with a 4-1 in Sinsheim. "But it was much scarcer," says Streich than the result would suggest. "We had a favorable game development." He would certainly have no objection to them in the league secondary.
