In a recent interview they revealed that Square Enix had no plans to rebuild Dirge of Cerberus and Before Crisis , since they are currently occupying with three projects, two consoles and one of mobiles. They mentioned that they would like to remastery Dirge of Cerberus and tried to calculate the production of Before crisis , but the idea is not yet on the table.
On the other hand, they ensure that the connection between Remake and Rebirth will have enough connections to need a context of having played the previous one to resume the new adventure. Of course, some events will continue to change compared to the original version, a decision that had already been seen since Remake was released in 2020.
Finally, they mentioned that they never affirmed how many parts were going to have the return because they were not even aware of that, but in the end they chose that a trilogy would be necessary instead of only two parts.
